A Valentine’s throwback

Here’s a throwback to my “Valentine’s Special” from 2021 wherein I covered and made a silly little video for Marvin Gaye’s “Sexual Healing”.

As I’ve talked about before, this was part of my loooooonnnng running series of weekly cover videos that I used to entertain myself (and others, I swear) during the pandemic lockdowns of 2021/2022. I shot this in my living room, really getting a lot of mileage out of a cheap RGB LED light and a white window blind. I love the arrangement of the song too - very “me” and a lot of fun to play.

Fun fact: I used the very last shot in this video as part of the brief for my album artwork. Something about that image seemed to sum up the vibe I wanted and it served as the jumping-off point in my first chats with the amazing Niamh Barry.
