“Little Gestures” EP, out 26/02

I’m delighted to announce the release of my new EP! To celebrate the anniversary of my debut album "A Grand Romantic Gesture", “Little Gestures” is a short collection of alternative versions of songs from that album, recorded (mostly) live with friends in Winter 2025.

“A Grand Romantic Gesture” spent ten years in gestation with each song being created in layers, each recorded almost completely alone in a studio with me filling every role: writer, performer, recording engineer and producer. The result is a collection of strong, varied songs with a lush production style mixing live drums with drum machines, acoustic guitars with raw synths and rich backing vocal harmonies.

Having exited the studio and toured the album around the country with my 3-piece live band, I felt a different energy happening on the songs. Some started to evolve while others got stripped back to their core elements. After watching one too many Tiny Desk Concert videos on YouTube, I decided I was going to try to create some live recordings, capturing the live spirit and showing a different side to my songs.

So in December and January, I gathered a few musical friends and collaborators into a series of studios, bedrooms and rehearsal rooms, handed out the shakers and had a bit of fun with my songs. 

The result is a collection of 4 songs that sound quite different from their album versions, adding a lot of raw fun while still retaining the soul of the original recordings. I think you’re going to like them.
